Hi!!! My name is Sara Sirignano, welcome to my site! I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May 2022, with a double major in Film & Media Production and Public & Professional Writing - that's really just a fancy name for Public Relations and Social Media. I'm a former collegiate Quidditch player ( a weirdly competitive and aggressive sport ), I write music, and I have survived two unknown rare illnesses! You can typically find me traveling any and everywhere to catch one of my favorite artists' shows, shoving my face in a new Roman-tasy book, record shopping, painting, and creating ultra-specific Spotify playlists. Originally from a small town fifteen minutes west of Cleveland, Ohio (shoutout Bay Village!), I have loved observing the world of media outside my tiny suburb from behind a screen.

When I was in the 7th grade, my science teacher would have me start each class with a "pop culture breakdown" from the previous day. I would give my entire (uninterested) class full of bored twelve-year-olds an E-News Report style rundown. In high school, I was known for being behind the camera and computer screen - taking pictures for my spreads in the yearbook as the head editor, designer, and photographer, or shooting and editing video footage for fun vlogs I would edit for my classmates and subscribers to enjoy. When my band went on tour, when I wasn't on stage throwing down, I was taking footage for us to look back on for years to come. And in college, my varying viral YouTube and TikTok videos have allowed for free publicity for my organizations and the university itself, by allowing current and prospective students some insight into what life on campus looks like. Give me an iPhone and a social media app, and I'm off and running. Creating content is in my blood.

I have always been drawn to the world of social media and pop culture. A musician myself - and an avid Taylor Swift and Harry Styles fan -  I am constantly on Tik Tok, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook keeping up with the latest trends and pop culture news. I have a lot of passion for media in all its varying forms - whether it's social media, movies, music, television, music videos, or public relations/communications content, I have my foothold in every area. There is nothing I love more than getting to collaborate with other leaders and creators to design, shoot, promote, produce, and share content in any medium.

My professors and employers know me as an individual willing to step up to challenges, adapt to last-minute changes, and serve as a strong decisive leader. I am able to multi-task and manage time effectively and efficiently while remaining organized and focused. I have built up years of skills and honed an in-depth understanding of social media and how it works (or doesn't work) to your advantage. Having gone viral multiple times myself, and racking up millions of views, I have a keen awareness of how to use analytics and algorithms to your advantage, how to design effective posts, and how to engage with your audience.

As a film student, I studied both theory and production, and I can recognize historical guides in modern pieces. I have experience working with film production equipment from cameras to sound to the editing booth. I have served on countless student projects in an academic capacity, and I have shot and edited videos for my personal enjoyment on my YouTube channel for nearly seven years. I am actively learning more within this craft, from all sides, and continue to improve my skills in all areas.

In the summer of 2021, I served as an assistant editor on Trent Williams (San Francisco 49'ers) documentary entitled "Silverback". My team and I worked virtually to ingest and organize hours of footage and create a documentary that is currently streaming on multiple platforms. I also served as a Production Assistant in the Health Safety Department for the IMDB TV / Amazon Prime Studios television show "Sprung". I was able to gain valuable on set and in office administrative experience, and interacted with the entire cast and crew.

In my final semester at school, I was not only working on two massive Capstone projects (a documentary for my Film & Media course, and a digital media research project on Social Media for Public & Professional Writing), but I was also working on Pitt's first ever morning broadcast television show. We went live every Friday morning, and then the show was re-aired at 3 PM on local television networks for 3.1 Million people later that afternoon. I served as an on air personality as one of the anchors (a highlight of the role: serving as the lead interviewer with an advisor to the Ukrainian President only days into the Russian conflict), a Camera Operator and Editor, and a Field Reporters. This class, alongside with my other coursework for my Television and Broadcast Arts certificate was fascinating, and I hope to continue diving into this area of study and work in some capacity in the future.

After graduating college, I took off on a three month backpacking journey across Europe. Though it was spurred by my interest in attending Harry Styles's Love On Tour concerts, and the fact that my study abroad program got canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was the trip of a lifetime. Traveling through England, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal fostered my love for life on the road and travel in general. You can see all about that trip in my video about it in my Film Portfolio! I've continued to travel since returning, and have made a few trips to Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville, and Austin. I'm currently working on my 2023 video, which will include my return to Europe where I got to go see Harry Styles (again) in Germany, as well as return to Spain and England, and go to Belgium and Austria for the first time.

Currently, I work remote, editing for the University of Pittsburgh's Video Production department, but I'm always online diving into entertainment and pop culture, and participating in my own ways - whether it be through music, editing, or design on my own personal social media platforms.

I would love the opportunity to work with you and your team, and I am confident that I possess skills that would make me an asset to your workplace environment and projects. Please explore my work, my resumé, and if you would like to set up a time to meet with me, feel free to contact me at 216-246-5152 or saralouisesirignano@gmail.com
